FIRE ALARM
A fire alarm system has a number of devices working together to detect and warn people through visual and audio appliances when smoke, fire, or other emergencies are present.
DCP fire extinguishers are by far the most common fire extinguishers in the home. They can handle all three types of fires you would find in a kitchen or workshop: combustible solids like wood or paper, combustible liquids like gasoline or grease, and electrical fires. The idea behind a DCP fire extinguisher is to blanket the fuel with an inert solid (similar to dirt or sand). A dry chemical extinguisher sprays a very fine powder of sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3, baking soda), potassium bicarbonate (KHCO3), or monoammonium phosphate ((NH4)H2PO4). These solids coat the fuel and smother the fire.
How DCP Fire Extinguisher Work
Water extinguishers work by removing heat from the fire. Dry chemical extinguishers are tanks of foam or dry powder with compressed nitrogen as the propellant. They work by smothering the fire: when you put a layer of powder or foam on the fire, you cut the fuel off from the oxygen around it, and the fire goes out.
What are the advantages of DCP Fire extinguishers (Dry chemical powder)?
DCP fire extinguishers have a few advantages when compared to other fire extinguishers:- Versatile - can be used on many different types of fire
Powerful - extinguish fires quickly
Compact - when comparing effectiveness/size against other types of fire extinguisher
Economical - low prices give them a great price/performance ratio
Coverage - can provide fire protection for large areas
Variety - come in many different sizes and ratings
Safe - due to their versatility they are safe for use on electrical fires
