Finally, the polystyrene sheet is placed above the BC547 transistor. This sheet increases the sensitivity of the fire alarm, as polystyrene has the property to contract slightly when exposed to heat. When the sheet contracts, it increases the surface area exposed to the heat, and allows for quick detection.
If your fire alarm does not function correctly, it's likely there might be a connection problem. Check the polarity of your battery and the position of the resistors, capacitors, and transistors. Ensure that they are correctly positioned and check that the connections are firm.
